It is an attractive base for a holiday or short break as it is ideally situated to explore the South Hams region. Sandy beaches are to be found at Bigbury-on-Sea just 3 miles to the south (Bigbury Webcam) where one can explore or secluded Wonwell. The edge of Dartmoor, awesome, beautiful and mysterious is only 5 miles to the north with its dramatic open spaces is always a popular tourist destination. Modbury offers a Post Office, LloydsTSB Bank, Health Centre, Primary School, Dentist, Vets, Fire Station (Photos), Art Gallery, superb range of small independent Shops, including Co-Op supermarket, chemist, inviting pubs, restaurants inns, hotel and B&B establishments.
